Terms of Use

1. The service

Balloon Journeys is a game operated by ERV Teknoloji A.Ş., based in Istanbul, Türkiye. You write a short message, attach it to a virtual balloon and release it. The balloon drifts on real wind data until somebody standing near it catches it and reads what you wrote. By using the app or the website you agree to these terms.

2. Your account

There is no sign-up. The app creates an anonymous account on your device the first time you open it. That account is how we recognise your balloons and enforce the daily limit.

It belongs to the device. If you delete the app, or lose the device, the account and its history are gone and cannot be recovered — we have no name, email or password with which to find them.

3. What you write

You are responsible for everything you send. A message is delivered to a stranger you have not chosen and cannot take back once the balloon is released, so write accordingly.

You keep ownership of what you write. You give us permission to store it, to move it around the world with the balloon, and to show it to the person who catches that balloon, for as long as the balloon's journey lasts.

Not allowed

• Anything unlawful, or that encourages something unlawful.
• Harassment, threats, hate, or content that sexualises children.
• Someone else's personal information — a name, an address, a phone number.
• Advertising, spam, or links sent to strangers at scale.
• Attempts to work around the game's rules: faking your location to catch a balloon you are not near, automating releases, or making more accounts to get around the daily limit.

4. Reporting and moderation

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. Every message you receive can be reported directly in the app, and reporting it removes it immediately — you do not have to wait for us to act first.

We review every report. If it confirms a violation of these terms, we act within 24 hours: the content stays removed and the account that sent it can be permanently blocked from sending or exchanging further messages. We do not read messages that are still in flight, so reporting is what makes this possible — please use it.

5. Location

The game needs your location to release a balloon and to check you are close enough to catch one. What we do with it is set out in the Privacy Policy, and the short version is that the place you let a balloon go is rounded before anyone can see it, and the place you caught one is never stored.

6. Paid items

If we offer paid balloons or abilities, they are bought through the App Store or Google Play, and those stores handle the payment and any refund under their own policies. Paid items are features of a game: they are not currency, they hold no value outside the app, and they cannot be exchanged or cashed out. We may change what is offered.

7. The service is offered as it is

Balloons move on weather data, which is a forecast and not a promise. Balloons may be delayed, may drift somewhere nobody ever goes, or may never be found before they pop on their own after 10,000 km (up to 40,000 km for a paid balloon) — that is the game rather than a fault. We may change, suspend or end the service, and we do not guarantee that it will always be available or that a message will ever reach anybody.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, including anything that follows from a message you sent or received. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Catching a balloon means walking to a real place. Use your judgement about where you go and when. You are responsible for your own safety.

9. Ending it

You may stop using the service at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or end access for an account that breaks these terms.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will update the date at the top and say so in the app. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the change.

These terms are governed by the law of Türkiye.
